For my final year animation project, I set out to create an abandoned playground scene that conveyed a sense of wear and tear, old age, and rustiness. Using a combination of Maya , 3D Substance Painter, I aimed to create a visually striking and immersive environment that would captivate viewers.
The abandoned playground scene features a range of equipment and structures, all of which are worn and deteriorated due to years of disuse. The colours used are bright and cheerful, but with a hint of decay and rust, giving the scene a unique and haunting feel.
I made a conscious choice to create an abandoned playground scene because it offered a compelling visual metaphor for the passage of time and the impermanence of human constructions. By using bright colours and playful shapes, I hoped to convey a sense of nostalgia and melancholy, as viewers reflect on their own childhood memories and the transience of youth.
Overall, I found this project to be a rewarding and creative challenge, requiring a high level of technical skill and artistic vision.
